Exactly 2 months ago my 718+ NAS got an upgrade with a pair of brand new WD Blue 500GB SSDs. The whole idea behind that is to have 718 and 918 running with max RAM and all flash storage.
In my ongoing process of offloading 918 on RS3614 unit I now need to offload some database and high I/O demanding docker containers as well. Considering that I do have SSD ready in 718, I now need some RAM.
For all of you who are unfamiliar with the stock setup of DS718 model, here are the specs.
Per specifications, 718+ comes with 2GB of RAM and two slots (just like 918+) with a maximum (officially) supported capacity of 6GB. Personally I run 918+ with 4+8GB combo with no problem at all, and it has been verified that Celeron J3455 CPU that’s running in both of those units, does support 16GB of RAM.
With all that in mind, I have ordered a pack of Crucial compatible memory with the following specifications:
Brand Name | Crucial |

Series | CT2K102464BF186D |
Item Weight | 18.1 g |
Product Dimensions | 17.8 x 1.1 x 12.7 cm |

NAS works fine with 0 problems at the moment. Booted up without any problems and now comes the fun part.
